Expansion of Doordarshan’s DTH Platform DD Direct Plus from 59 to 97 TV Channels at Todapur, New Delhi


This project envisages expansion of Doordarshan's present DTH platform "DO Direct
Plus". The present DTH Platform is up-linking 59 TV channels, 22 Radio channels and
2 DWDS channels in "Free- To- Air" mode. The platform is proposed to be expanded to
carry 97 TV Channels (96 SO channels and I HD channel), 40 Radio channels and one
DWDS (Disaster Warning Dissemination System) Channel in each stream.

The present uplink has 5 streams in MPEG 2, DVB-S configuration. Out of the 5 streams, 3 streams
are carrying (13+ I) SO channels per stream and are equipped with Tandberg make
Compression equipment. The remaining 2 streams are carrying (10+ I) SO channels per
stream and are equipped with Scopus make Compression equipment.

 All the 5 streams are carrying 4 or 6 radio channels per stream at present. Stream 4 and 5 are also
carrying one DWDS channel each comprising of an audio channel along with
associated private data channel.


The Propesed new streams 4th, 5th, and 6th configuration shall be with the following configuration:-

1- The 4th stream shall carry 16 TV Channels in SD and radio channels, in MPEG-2 DVB-S technology.

2- The 5th Stream shall carry only 24 TV channels in SD and 8 Radio channels, in MPEG4 DVB-S2 technology.

3- The 6th stream shall carry 17 TV channels in SD and 1 TV channel in HD and 8 radio channels, or 24 SDTV channels if HDTV channel is not included in mpeg-4 technology.

Due to Upgration DD's Terrestrial Transmission would be off - DD-1 going to become HD

Chenni Doordarshan's Terrestrial Transmission services would be upgraded with Digital Transmitters, a press release here said. Under the eleventh plan scheme, the four Metros, including Chennai and 18 other centres were being upgraded with Digital Transmitters.

The four Metros would be provided with HD TV Terrestrial Transmitters. Presently, the installation of Transmitter and allied equipments are underway and the Antenna instllation works will be taken up soon, the release added. From October 5 to 13 and October 15 t 20, Terrstrial transmission services will be off from 0000 hrs to 0500 hrs. October 14 and 21, the above services will be off from 0000 hrs to 1200 hrs.

However Cable TV and DTH viewers will have continued services of DD-podhigai and other DD-Services without any break while carrying out the antenna installation works

டி20 உலகக் கோப்பை: இலங்கையில் இன்று தொடக்கம்!

கொழும்பு: 20 ஓவர் உலகக் கோப்பை கிரிக்கெட் போட்டி இலங்கையில் செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை தொடங்குகிறது. முதல் ஆட்டத்தில் இலங்கை - ஜிம்பாப்வே அணிகள் மோதுகின்றன.

4-வது 20 ஓவர் உலக கோப்பை கிரிக்கெட் போட்டி இலங்கையில் இன்று (செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை) தொடங்கி அக்டோபர் 7-ந்தேதி வரை நடைபெறுகிறது. இதில் பங்கேற்றுள்ள 12 அணிகள் 4 பிரிவாக பிரிக்கப்பட்டு உள்ளன.

`ஏ` பிரிவில் இங்கிலாந்து, இந்தியா, ஆப்கானிஸ்தான் அணிகளும், `பி` பிரிவில் ஆஸ்திரேலியா, வெஸ்ட் இண்டீஸ், அயர்லாந்து அணிகளும் `சி` பிரிவில் இலங்கை, தென்ஆப்பிரிக்கா, ஜிம்பாப்வே அணிகளும், `டி` பிரிவில் பாகிஸ்தான், நிïசிலாந்து, வங்காளதேசம் ஆகிய அணிகளும் இடம் பெற்றுள்ளன. ஒவ்வொரு அணியும் தங்கள் பிரிவில் உள்ள அணிகளுடன் தலா ஒரு முறை மோத வேண்டும். லீக் சுற்று முடிவில் ஒவ்வொரு பிரிவிலும் முதல் இரு இடங்களை பிடிக்கும் அணிகள் சூப்பர்-8 சுற்றுக்கு முன்னேறும்.

சூப்பர்-8 சுற்றில் ஒவ்வொரு அணியும் தங்கள் பிரிவில் உள்ள மற்ற அணியுடன் தலா ஒரு முறை மோதும். இதன் முடிவில் ஒவ்வொரு பிரிவிலும் முதல் இரு இடங்களை பிடிக்கும் அணிகள் அரைஇறுதிக்குள் நுழையும்.

இந்த உலக கோப்பையில் மொத்தம் 27 ஆட்டங்கள் நடக்கின்றன. கொழும்பு ஆர்.பிரேமதாசா ஸ்டேடியம், பல்லகெலே ஸ்டேடியம், ஹம்பன்டோட்டா மைதானம் ஆகிய மூன்று இடங்களில் நடைபெறுகிறது.

"சி' பிரிவில் இன்று நடக்கவுள்ள முதல் லீக் போட்டியில் இலங்கை, ஜிம்பாப்வே அணிகள் விளையாடுகின்றன. இலங்கை அணியைப் பொறுத்தவரை சொந்த மண்ணில் விளையாடுவதால் உள்ளூர் ரசிகர்களின் ஆதரவு கைகொடுக்கும். சமீபத்தில் இலங்கை பிரிமியர் லீக் தொடரில் விளையாடி இருப்பது அதிக நம்பிக்கை அளிக்கும்.

Install Dish TV Monoblock LNB in Simple Steps

1- First check if your dish is compatible with a MonoBlock. You should have an 80cm dish without multi feed adaptor.

2- Mount the MonoBlock properly on to the dish. It's very important that you mount the left device on the dish, if you stand behind the dish an look into the sky. The left eye should now be in the center of the dish. This points to NSS6 95°E

3- Now, set the correct DiEqC settings in all connected receivers. Most Monolock LNBs use DiEqC A/1 for NSS6 and DiEqC B/2 for Asiasat 5

4- Now align the dish to NSS6 95° E. First set the right elevation for your location. There are several websites to find out the proper elevation for your location. Then move the dish slightly from south to south-east until you have signal strength and signal quality on your receiver. You should find signal indicator in the same menu as you can set the DiEqC settings.

5- Get the best signal as possible. You should reach at least 80% signal strength and quality to get a good signal.

6- Now, if you found the satellites and have enough signal, you can do a channel scan on both satellites.



Trips and Tricks:
Cover the Asiasat LNB with aluminium foil during the alignment. This prevents that you point with the wrong Lnb to NSS6. After alignment was successful, remove the foil.
